What is S925 Sterling Silver?

Sterling silver is an alloy made from 92.5 percent silver and 7.5 percent alloy. An alloy is the mixture of two or more elements.  The reason sterling silver requires the mixture of other metals is that naturally, pure silver is soft. Adding other metals to the silver increases the hardness, making it more durable and suitable for jewelry use.  Additionally, metals that contain less than 92.5 percent silver are not sterling silver, which is important to keep in mind when buying sterling silver.  Sterling silver, aka 925 silver, is hypoallergenic, high quality, and safe.

What is Gold Plating?

Gold plating is a process where a thin layer of gold is bonded onto a base metal. The base metal and the gold are immersed in an electroplating solution. An electric current sends a negative charge to the base metal and a positive charge to the solution and gold. The positive-charged gold pieces bond to the negative-charged base metal, forming a thin gold layer around the metal.

What are the benefits of Gold Plated Sterling Silver?

Because the metals are not completely filled with gold it is affordable and because it is made with 925 sterling silver it is durable.  It appeals to many because of their beautiful appearance and low cost. It also does not require much maintenance because gold plated jewelry will not tarnish.

This is why I love Gold Plated Sterling Silver.

I love gold plated jewelry as it not only allows me the affordability to have a variety of pieces to wear on different occasions but still beautiful to pass as the real, solid gold jewelry.  This is why I started this budget-friendly jewelry line.  I wanted others to be able to wear beautiful, affordable jewelry to match their everyday outfits; to be able to switch it up or add on layers for a different look for every day and every occasion.
